While watching Fox News Sunday, I noticed how center to left wing commentators like to mention how Mitt Roomey changed his stance on abortion in the early 1990's.
Why is it a story if Republicans change their stance on controversial issues, but when Democrats do the same thing, it is "golden".
How many present Democrats in Congress have a pro-choice stance, after they were once pro life?
One of them is Dick Durbin (D-ILL) who is a Catholic. He once was pro life, but changed and now is one of NARAL favorite Senators. Why was it alright for him to change? One of the reasons is, whatever a Democrat does, it is good. If a Republican changes his/her mind on any issue that goes against the "main stream", then it is bad.
If a Democrat wants to win any national political office, they better be pro choice. There is no room for a pro life person in their party. NARAL will not stand for it.
If your a politician, you better be a Democrat, that way you will be free to change your mind on any issue anytime. As long as you do not join the GOP.
